Tamara is a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC) in the State of Maryland and is a National Certified Counselor (NCC) with the National Board for Certified Counselors. Tamara received her Master of Arts in Education and Human Development, with a focus in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, from George Washington University in Washington, DC.
Tamara has provided counseling and mental health services, to individuals and groups, in private practice, outpatient mental clinics and community programs. Tamara has experience working with adults, adolescents, children, and families. Tamara has provided services, directly and indirectly, to individuals managing symptoms or having difficulties related to grief, depression, anxiety, ADHD and trauma. Tamara uses a Person-Centered and Trauma-Informed Care approach to counseling, while integrating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing, Play-Oriented Therapy modalities and intervention techniques.
